Free Advice?

Posted by Helen Hardcastle on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 In : General Blog
I was recently asked to provide a quotation for a Land Registry compliant plan. Having agreed a fee and been given the go ahead to do the work, I was later asked to look at some plans that the owner had subsequently found and advise whether these earlier plans were in fact already Land Registry compliant. As it happened, the plans were not compliant, but it set me thinking, what would I do if they were? By this time I had already done quite a bit of preparatory work and spent quite some time ...

Two For The Price Of One

Posted by Helen Hardcastle on Monday, April 24, 2017

Most of the work undertaken by HH CAD Plans is drawing up marketing floor plans for commercial premises and drawing up Land Registry compliant lease plans.
A lot of estate agents for commercial premises are still not 100% convinced that having floor plans drawn up for their marketing material is absolutely necessary. This is in contrast to residential estate agents who now invariably include a floor plan because potential buyers demand it. However, for commercial premises too, having a detail...

Can we fix it? Yes, we can!

Posted by Helen Hardcastle on Thursday, April 13, 2017 In : CAD
This is an email we recently received:

"Dear HH CAD Plans
We are in the process of renewing various licences at the above premises and I have suggested we get some proper plans done that can be shaded as necessary going forward. I have some A1 drawings for you to work from and there have only been some very minor changes which I can mark on the plan for you. Can you do this?"

This is just the sort of job we love: taking an out of date hard copy plan and drawing it up on CAD so that it can be...

Getting comments like the one below is really gratifying.

"Wow - that's a really great service you are providing. Thanks so much - it's been a pleasure dealing with you and if I know anyone who needs this sort of service I will certainly recommend you."

It was followed up with a great review on Yell.com.

Land Registry Compliant Plans

Posted by Helen Hardcastle on Tuesday, October 4, 2016
Much of the work being undertaken at the moment by HH CAD Plans is in the preparation of plans which need to be Land Registry compliant.

The Land Registry has very specific requirements for plans which accompany property transfers, new registrations and some lease renewals. The requirements are not complicated, but it is essential to get them right every time to avoid plans being rejected by the Land Registry.

The plans must be drawn to a metric scale and have an accurate north point.

The plans...

Happy Days

Posted by Helen Hardcastle on Thursday, June 9, 2016
I have not posted any updates here for a while, simply because I have been too busy to do so! Orders have kept coming and deadlines have had to be met. It is the fifth anniversary of HH CAD Plans and it is very gratifying to be still going from strength to strength and providing a service that obviously is appreciated and needed. Many thanks to anyone who has helped me along the way.

Never Boring

Posted by Helen Hardcastle on Thursday, April 28, 2016
The last couple of months have been pretty hectic and there have been some really interesting jobs. One that stood out was a 30,000 square metre factory unit. The survey was quite a challenge, but it was really satisfying to get it done and produce some great floor plans. Unfortunately the content is confidential so I can't share them on my website.
There have also been a bank, a Newcastle Metro station ticket office and a vintage car workshop, along with some "bog standard" Lease Plans.
It's ...
